Usually the first thing that comes to mind when video games are brought up isn't the story. No, people will tell you that, if you want a story, you can go read a book, see a movie, or maybe even watch TV. However, there is no reason gamers can't make a good story their main priority when searching out their next adventure. Here at Captive Gamers, we embrace the ability that games have to captivate us and that's what we come back for. While gameplay is still an essential part of games, what separates it from other mediums in fact, it's best used in advancing the store and fostering a sense of interactivity and immersion not found in flipping the page or staring at the screen.
Here's what we hope to bring you here at Captive Gamers:
* Reviews based on story alone (Again, not to bash other elements, but to get be able to read a review whose criteria is definitive and catering to those who are most interested in story aspects of games). Reviews are not given as an objective grade, but as a subjective reflection based on the reviewer's time and interest in the piece, with a discussion from readers encouraged.
* Trailer-watch : Previews of upcoming games from an advertising, development and pure speculation angle to put good story game candidates on your radar and poke fun at some not so great stories in games.
* Miscellaneous: This is a blog after all, so whatever else is out there that's captivating us will be thrown in the mix for your enjoyment and cherished scrutiny.
Hopefully this isn't simultaneously my last post, here's to being captivated!
